Tormek KJ 140 Wide Centering Knife Jig is a patented, well-balanced jig designed to provide extra stability when sharpening knives with long, flexible blades and various shapes, including fillet knives, butcher's knives, and classic chef's knives. This innovative jig ensures a symmetrical grind by maintaining the same angle on both sides of the blade. It self-centers regardless of the blade's thickness and geometry, delivering optimal, symmetrical results on both bevels. The longer clamp stabilizes flexible blades to prevent bending, allowing for consistent angle and pressure across the entire bevel for easy setup and sharpening outcomes. The 5 1/2" wide clamp firmly holds and centers tapered knives, while the jig’s balanced design focuses most of its weight on the clamps, providing a more controlled feel during grinding. It also allows for shaping a slightly convex edge with movement between two stops, and an extra stop accommodates tall knives like cleavers, enhancing versatility. The jig can center knives from the thinnest blades up to 7/16" thickness. Constructed with robust cast zinc clamps and fiberglass-reinforced composite stops, it slides smoothly with low friction against the universal support. Compatible with Tormek T-4, T-8, and older models, this jig is made in Sweden.
