This tool accepts any of three standard cutters—square, round, or detail—as well as a variety of other specially configured cutting tips. The patented interchangeable cutter head locks into three positions, allowing for both scraping for fast material removal and shear scraping for fine finishing and smoothing. The round shank features a flat underside for stability on the rest, and a high tensile strength torx screw ensures cutters remain securely tightened. Included with the tool are a special key for quick cutter release, torx wrenches, and an instruction sheet. Cutters come in three different materials: tungsten carbide (TC), high speed steel (HSS), and titanium nitride (TiN) coated Excelsior line. This variety allows turners to select the cutter for their specific material. Tungsten carbide is i for roughing operations or abrasive materials like high silica exotic woods. High speed steel is for clean detail and fine finishing, while the titanium nitride coated Excelsior tips the toughness and prolonged edge life of TiN with the same characteristics as plain HSS.
